Houston Fintech is a private lending brokerage that helps real estate investors and business owners access capital when traditional banks say “no.” We partner with banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions as their second-look solution—structuring private and non-bank loans for borrowers who don’t fit conventional guidelines due to credit, liquidity, solvency, or property issues.
We are growing and looking for a Bank Referral Relationship Manager to deepen our partnerships with commercial bankers and turn their turndowns into funded deals.

Role Overview
The Bank Referral Relationship Manager is responsible for building and managing referral relationships with:
• Commercial Real Estate Loan Officers
• Commercial Real Estate Relationship Managers (CRE RM)
• Commercial Relationship Managers / Business Bankers
• Commercial Loan Officers
You will educate these bankers on when to refer deals, manage the referral pipeline from introduction to closing, and work with our internal team and capital partners to structure viable private-credit solutions.

What You’ll Do
Bank & Lender Relationship Development
• Identify and target commercial and business bankers in our markets.
• Build strong, ongoing relationships as their go-to resource for turndown and non-bankable deals.
• Host and participate in banker meetings, lunch-and-learns, and industry events.
• Present Houston Fintech’s programs, ideal deal profiles, and success stories to bank teams.
Referral Pipeline Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for referred borrowers and their bankers.
• Receive and screen new referrals for basic fit and feasibility.
• Coordinate document collection and maintain accurate deal status in the CRM.
• Move deals through the pipeline: intake → pre-qualification → lender match → term sheet → closing.
• Keep both the banker and borrower informed with clear, timely communication.
Pre-Qualification & Deal Structuring Support
• Perform high-level pre-qualification on deals (property, borrower, leverage, and exit strategy).
• Work with internal underwriting and external capital partners to structure options.
• Prepare simple, clear term scenarios and summaries for bankers and borrowers.
Banker Education & Marketing Support
• Collaborate with marketing to refine banker-facing one-pagers, decks, and case studies.
• Lead or support trainings/webinars for bank teams on “When to Refer to Houston Fintech.”
• Provide feedback from the field to improve our products, programs, and messaging.
Retention, Growth & Reporting
• Build a portfolio of “core” referring bankers who consistently send deal flow.
• Schedule regular check-ins with top referrers to review pipeline and explore new opportunities.
• Track activity and results in CRM and provide weekly/monthly reporting on:
• New banker relationships
• New referrals received
• Pipeline conversion
• Funded loan volume and fee income from banker referrals

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
• 3–7+ years in one or more of the following:
• Commercial banking (RM, CRE lender, SBA lender, business banker), or
• Private/bridge/hard-money lending, or
• Commercial mortgage or real estate investment finance.
• Proven track record of business development through relationships.
• Experience working with commercial borrowers and/or real estate investors.
Knowledge & Skills
• Solid understanding of commercial and real estate lending fundamentals (LTV, LTC, DSCR, ARV, etc.).
• Comfortable reviewing financial statements, rent rolls, credit reports, and basic deal packages.
• Strong communication and presentation skills—able to make complex financing easy to understand.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple banker relationships and deals at once.
• Proficient with CRM systems and productivity tools (Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace).

• Relationship-driven and comfortable calling on bankers and financial professionals.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with persistence and resilience.
• High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to protecting banker and client relationships.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary (Exempt):
• $80,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience and performance history.
Variable Compensation:
• Deal-based commissions and/or bonus overrides on funded loans sourced via banker referrals.
• Quarterly performance bonuses tied to:
• New banker relationships
• Referral volume
• Funded volume and conversion rates
On-Target Earnings (OTE):
• Mid-performers: approximately $110,000 – $140,000+
• Top performers can earn $150,000+ with strong funded volume.
